Airplane pillow fight en route between Pheonix and Everett is a YouTube sensation
denisegl | November 11, 2010 | 11:45 am

There was a time, in the now-distant past, when airplane travel was glamorous. Now, as this airplane pillow fight video shows, air travel ranks near a school bus trip. Youtube user Imatlin posted this airplane pillow fight video, saying it occurred on CO 1905 en route between Phoenix, AZ and Everett, WA.

The airplane pillow fight is not just an example of passengers having some fun in confined quarters– indeed, the airplane pillow fight reflects the plight of everyone who flies in coach: a healthy disdain for those who travel first class.

Boeing takes the brunt of The Onion’s humor
Steve | August 7, 2010 | 11:38 pm

Winding down a week of gloomy news of the first Boeing vendor to cancel 787 orders due to production delays, everyone needs a little humor to lighten things up. The farcical newspaper, The Onion published the following story on Friday.

Boeing Lays Off Only Guy Who Knows How To Keep Wings On Plane

CHICAGO—With the airline industry continuing to suffer under the ongoing recession, the Boeing Company was forced Monday to lay off Al Freedman, the only guy left at the corporation who knows how to keep wings from falling off planes. “We used to have a whole team of engineers who knew how to make the wings stay on, but those days are long gone,” Boeing CEO James McNerney, Jr. said. “We’ll make it work, though. The wings are not necessarily the most important part of the plane, anyway.” McNerney added that at least they were able to save the job of the guy who knows how to prevent jet engines from exploding.

Happy New Year. Stay home if you are sick.
denisegl | January 11, 2010 | 5:09 pm

Stay home if you are sick.
A few weeks ago, I was feeling down perhaps with a touch of what seemed like flu symptoms. It was sinusitis. I know this because I went to the doctor to make sure that my illness was not contagious. It is not. Finding out what was the cause of my illness is a priority so that I can protect my friends and others that I come in contact with.

I was finished with Christmas and couldn’t wait for New Year’s to be over. Looking forward to a regular schedule and a clean slate is what I have been looking towards.

This year my resolution is to stop pushing myself to oblivion. Seriously, I am slowing the heck down this year. No diets, no extreme fitness. In fact, I would like to add an hour of TV to my schedule. But that’s just me trying to find balance.  My other resolution is to give back to my favorite city, Everett, WA with education and help. But first, I had to get healthy. Read on to learn how to fight the flu. Read more »

Bikini Baristas of Everett take the brunt of Jay Leno’s Humor

Jay Leno

Did you catch the Jay Leno show last? The Grab N’ Go espresso employees charged by the Everett Police of prostitution were fodder for Leno’s humor during his opening monologue. Thankfully, he didn’t mention Everett by name in this unflattering light in front of a national audience. Here is his monologue:

“Five women at an espresso stand outside of Seattle have been charged with prostitution after they allegedly charged customers to rub up against their breasts. They’re selling coffee and for extra money you could rub up against the girls.” Read more »

Tower Toppled in Isengard

The Tower of Orthanc

The Tower of Orthanc in Isengard (file photo)

Last week, late on Thursday night, in the rural town of Isengard, located in the northwestern corner of Rohan, a covert late night bulldozer attack on the Tower of Orthanc leveled the 500 foot tower down to the ground. Uruk-hai officers arrived at the scene to investigate, and at first speculated that the tree-like race of Ents were responsible for the damage. By late Friday morning, the Elf public relations department issued a press release, written in the Elfin language of Sindarin, claiming responsibility for toppling the tower. Elf leaders Galadriel of Lothlórien, and Elrond of Rivendale, were unavailable for comment at the time.

Anyone with information regarding the identities of the Elves responsible for the fallen tower is asked to contact the Rohan County Sheriff’s Department.
