Jillian Boprey Named New Dance Team Director

The Stealth Bombshells, dance team of the 2010 National Lacrosse League Champion Washington Stealth, announced today that auditions for the 2011 squad will take place on August 28 at the Comcast Arena at Everett. The Stealth has also announced that Jillian Boprey will take the reigns as the director of the premier dance team in professional lacrosse. Boprey takes over the Bombshells director duties after spending last season as a member and co-choreographer of the dance team. Emerald City Athletic Club celebrates National Dance Day

Join Emerald City Athletic Club in celebrating NATIONAL DANCE DAY on Saturday July 31 from 1-2:30pm. Emerald City Athletic Club is joining the Dizzy Feet Foundation and So You Think You Can Dance to support dance education and physical fitness. The club says “We want to empower, challenge and inspire everyone to try various styles of dance from hip-hop to ballroom or anything that moves!” Everyone is welcome…learn the Dizzy Feet Hip-Hop routine, hip-hop with performing group Qudian, shake it in latin style with ZUMBA and ZUMBATOMIC and hoop dance with ES-BOT. The Dance School Year End Performance 2010

The Dance School is pleased to announce their Year End Performance on Saturday, June 19 at 2:00pm and 7:00pm at the Everett Performing Arts Center 2710 Wetmore Avenue. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Volunteers are needed for backstage, ticket sales, chaperones and more. Each Creative Movement and Prop Dance class will need one volunteer to stay with the class in the green room before they perform. Be assured that volunteer parents will be released to watch their child perform. If you’d like to help out, there will be a volunteer sign up sheet posted outside the office.

When I walk into my favorite yoga class, my teacher always greets me with her beautiful smile. She waves. “Hi Denise. Your hair looks so nice.” This makes me feel like a star. She acknowledges me. She makes me feel important. She doesn’t even get mad if I arrive a few minutes late or even if I do not show up for a few weeks. Or perhaps show up with a hangover. I’m kidding. 2010 WIAA State Cheerleading and Salute to Spirit Dance

WIAA_Cheer09The Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) will be hosting their 5th Annual Salute to Spirit and WIAA State Cheerleading Championships on Saturday, January 23, 2010 at the Comcast Arena at Everett. In 2009, the Salute to Spirit Dance competition had 20 dance/drill and 51 cheerleading high school teams participating throughout the day. On Saturday, November 21, the highly anticipated “So You Think You Can Dance Tour” arrives at the Comcast Arena in Everett, the last stop on a 40 city tour. The top five couples from Season 5 will be tearing up the stage. The dancers will perform some of the season’s most popular routines and bust out some new moves in original pieces created specifically for the nationwide tour.
