A-ConvenientGreen Everett will be hosting the next Green Drinks of Snohomish County at Zippy’s Java Lounge on Wednesday February 10 from 5:30–8 p.m. Come early because there will be a chocolate tasting with Seattle’s organic Fair Trade-Theo Chocolates and confections. At 7 p.m. an inspiring documentary will be screened, A Convenient Truth. No, this isn’t Al Gore’s movie. A Film by Giovanni Vaz Del Bello, A Convenient Truth: Urban Solutions from Curitiba, Brazil is about turning a poverty stricken city into one of the most vibrant, sustainable cities in the world. The footage includes exclusive interviews from world-renowned Curitiba mayors who made their city a model for others to follow. The documentary focuses on innovations in transportation and recycling, plus social benefits including affordable housing, parks and the processes that transformed Curitiba into one of the most livable cities in the world.

Zippy’s Java Lounge owner Marilyn Rosenberg spoke at an Everett City Council meeting in January and invited Everett’s civic leaders to watch this inspiring film about the transformation in Curitiba, Brazil.
