SR 529 Ebey Slough bridge

Many drivers traveling to and from Everett and Marysville have driven the SR 529 Ebey Slough bridge. But have you ever seen this bridge swing into action? This swing-span bridge built in 1925 is one of the few in Washington state that moves in such a manner. Check out a time-lapsed video of the bridge movements on flickr.

This summer, WSDOT is planning to start a three-year $45 million construction project to replace the aging bridge. The new four-lane bridge will be built along side the existing bridge, to minimize traffic disruption during construction. To learn more about the construction project and the new bridge, visit the WSDOT website.
